Privacy Policy

We respect your privacy and collect only the data needed to run the Skanderly app for learning Albanian. Here is what we collect and why.

Data we collect

Account data: email, name and sign-in identifier when you register via Google, Telegram or email. Passwords are stored only in encrypted form.
Learning progress: completed lessons, XP, streaks, mistakes and saved words — to show your progress and reviews.
Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, and local storage to keep your session.

Third-party services

For some features we pass the minimum necessary data to external processors:

AI features (“Dialogue with the eagle” and the translator): the text you enter is sent to an AI provider to generate a response.
Audio: text is sent to a text-to-speech service to return audio.
Speech recognition: in the pronunciation trainer, a recording of your voice is sent to a speech-recognition service to score your pronunciation. The recording is processed for transcription and is not stored on our servers.
Email: email verification, password reset and reminders are sent through an email delivery service.
Push notifications: sent only if you grant permission.
Hosting: data is stored on our server.
Meta Pixel (advertising): the site uses the Meta Pixel. It tells Meta about page views and sign-ups (your email is sent only in hashed, encrypted form) so we can measure how our Instagram and Facebook ads perform. We do not share your progress, answers or messages with Meta. You can manage or turn off personalised ads in your Meta account's ad settings, or by blocking third-party cookies in your browser.

How we use data

Only to operate the service: managing your account, showing progress, spaced review, competition (leagues), notifications and support. We do not sell your data and do not use it for third-party advertising.

Storage and security

Data is kept while your account exists. We take reasonable measures to protect it, including password encryption and secure connections.

Your rights

You can request access to your data or deletion of your account by contacting us. When an account is deleted, its associated data is removed.

Children

The app is suitable for a general audience. If you are below the age of consent in your country, use the app with a parent's permission.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new date.
